My passion is found at the intersection of Financial Services, Change and Innovation. Throughout my career, I have used my skills as a leader, strategist, advisor, builder, and entrepreneur to help financial institutions in Europe, Canada, APAC and the US achieve measurable outcomes. Often, my work relies upon the skills and experience I have gained over the past 20 years as a leader in the industry operating, building, and transforming organizations as an owner, operator, and employee.
At CMBYND I lead a team of strategic and “hands-on” consultants on transformational projects with results achieved in capital markets, wealth, retail banking, operations, and leading-edge bank-wide solutions. You will typically find me working with our clients and teams as a strategic advisor, providing pragmatic guidance on financial regulation, compliance programs, operational control, and cost reduction opportunities.
I built CMBYND to inspire and deliver risk and compliance innovation, for the benefit of the Risk & Compliance professionals we engage, and the organizations they serve. My passion has always been solving problems in a creative manner, bringing simplicity from complexity, to achieve innovative transformation and change often underpinned with technology as an enabler to success and benefit realisation.
The last 20+ years have been dominated by work in the financial sector, where as a boutique technology vendor and business consultant I have assisted large multinationals in the delivery of tactical and strategic initiatives across the Americas, Canada, Europe, UK and Asia — primarily within the Risk, Compliance and Finance domains (Capital Markets and Investment Banking), and some in M&A and Global Advisory.
In the financial space examples include designing, developing, delivering, and supporting software to standardise financial projection analysis across 80 countries, economic market sizing across 40 countries and alpha discovery methodologies for M&A scenario modelling.
In the non-financial space examples include co-founding, building, and operationalizing the world’s first, and fully compliant, mobilised content delivery platform and business — a significant undertaking involving the marriage between hardware and software to transact millions of daily records. In telecoms, building the UK’s first online credit checking and mobile phone activation platform.
Entrepreneurial by nature, but with practical experience of operational realities, I enjoy the challenge of change; building and leveraging technology, reengineering operations and creatively communicating – all to help and support organizations achieve their vision and strategic objectives.
